Summer Lookbook 2020
Patience & Pearls

Summer is officially here, which means it’s time for the Summer 2020 lookbook! If you are looking for some outfits to freshen up your wardrobe for the 2020 season, I have some ideas for you. I know this summer season has been one full of cancellations and uncertainty, and a lot of us are at home imagining what it would have been like to be on that vacation that we booked or grabbing drinks with friends on a weekend. Believe me, I won’t be taking any of those things for granted again. We are all in this together, and we’ll get through it. To help us get through this rough season of life and to bring some much needed distraction from the world’s current events, I have curated a short list of summer looks for you to check out.

This is not a huge gallery of summertime trends, rather, I have found a few trendy pieces that would integrate well with whatever you already have in your closet, all at an affordable price. Everything in this lookbook is under $50!

1. The Sundress

Who doesn’t want a new sundress? This one is from Target, my favorite store. It is stretchy and flowy, and the material is very high quality. I was kind of surprised. This dress is actually a maternity dress from the Ingrid & Isabel line at Target, so it can accommodate multiple body types and can transition well to post-partum. I wore this dress with a pair of strappy sandals for the ultimate carefree look. Add some sunglasses if you’re feeling feisty.

2. Graphic Tee and Shorts, with a Twist

I love graphic tees! And I love these from Thread Tank, which is an online company that specializes in graphic tees that allow you to share your story with the world. Their items are super high quality, feel buttery soft and hold up well in the wash. I paired this “Have Courage and Be Kind” graphic tee with Target shorts. However, and here’s the twist, instead of wearing sandals or sneakers like I usually would, I am wearing these mule booties from Target! They are slip-on and they provide height as well as elongate your legs. I just think these shoes completely elevate the shorts and tee shirt look. These shoes will also transition well into the Fall season. What do you think?

3. Tee Shirt and Midi Skirt Trend

I love this trend so, so much! It represents the best combination of girly and tomboy-cool, and it is so easy to wear. This pleated midi skirt is affordable from Target. It comes in other patterns as well, and has an elastic waistband for comfort and versatility. I paired this beautiful skirt with a “Strong is Beautiful” graphic tee from Thread Tank, and my favorite mule booties from Target. Accessorize with this hammered gold cuff and tortoiseshell cat eye sunglasses. I hope this trend doesn’t go out of style anytime soon. I feel so silly for jumping on the train so late in the game!
